How will my planted rose gift arrive?

Our roses are cut back for the Winter to promote root growth, thus will arrive with short but healthy stems between October and March. Roses in April and May would be expected to have new growth and leaves. Between May and September you will see buds and blooms. *Please note: These are estimates and can vary due to weather conditions and exact variety of rose.

Expertly planted in our exclusive large willow basket, your rose will be ready to bring instant colour to the garden. Your rose will be safely nestled among approx 14L of quality fresh compost and premium slow release fertiliser, thus giving it all the nutrients that make our roses so stunning. Finished with a bark topping to aid water retention and suppress weeds, it also gives a gift-ready finish. At approx 14L, this large basket can therefore provide all your rose needs for up to 2 years with no replanting necessary, making it the perfect Christmas gift for parents.

We take care to be as sustainable as possible here at English Roses, and so avoid single use plastics. Our packaging is therefore fully recyclable, even down to the strapping on our cardboard boxes. Our gift wrapping also contains natural materials, many of which can be repurposed and reused.

We deliver nationally using our delivery partner DPD, with full tracking available. Our roses are securely packaged in our specially designed parcels, so we are confident they can travel the country and still arrive in top condition. Size and Season Information

Rose bushes go through different stages of growth throughout the year. They will look different as they move from their dormant phase in the winter to being in full bloom during the summer. For more information on how a rose will look throughout the year, please see our growth guide.

Our standard container is 5.5L, or there is the option to upgrade to our large willow basket for a patio ready gift! All roses (except bare root) will be securely packaged into our specially designed box, and are delivered via DPD. More information on sizing and delivery can be found in our help guides.

Delivery and Contact

We offer tracked delivery to mainland UK (excluding highlands, islands & Northern Ireland) via DPD. Full tracking is provided on all orders, including updates on estimated delivery time.

Next day delivery is available on orders placed before 12pm midday on weekdays (weekends & 2-day Scotland service excluded). You can also choose your preferred delivery date at checkout, up to 60 days in advance.

Free delivery is available on orders £100+ (2-day Scotland service excluded).
