As spring arrives and the weather warms, roses will be emerging from dormancy and starting to grow. Their stems will have been lightly pruned to encourage new growth, and leaves may start to appear. Roses grow at different rates, depending on variety, age, and weather conditions. Roses still need to be kept outside even if the temperatures fall.
Deep Secret Rose
Deep Secret Rose is an incredible variety and a sure favourite in the garden. Blooms of the deepest red open from buds so dark purple they appear almost black. The large, graceful flowers are full and shapely, and held in small trusses on strong, upright stems. Not only stunning to look at, these flowers produce a strong, rich fragrance that will fill the air all summer long. The sheer abundance of blooms, with their classic hybrid tea shape and deep velvety colour, rest on a bushy backdrop of glossy dark green leaves.
Hardy, tolerant of poor soils, and boasting good disease resistance, this stunning hybrid tea would be at home in any garden or outdoor space. With strong, vigorous growth with an upright habit, this repeat flowering rose is also ideal for cut displays, bringing the joy indoors. Hybrid Tea Roses
Hybrid tea roses are bush roses and thus ideal for borders and large patio pots, and can be planted straight away. With their long stems and large flowers, they are also a favourite of cut displays.

How will my rose arrive?
Our roses are cut back for the Winter to promote root growth, thus will arrive with short but healthy stems between October and March. Roses in April and May would be expected to have new growth and leaves, and then between May and September buds and blooms. *Please note: These are estimates and can vary due to weather conditions and exact variety of rose.
Your rose will be in a large 5.5L container, which is recyclable and thus can be disposed of accordingly in your home recycling bin.
We take care to be as sustainable as possible here at English Roses, and so avoid single use plastics. Our packaging is therefore fully recyclable, even down to the strapping on our cardboard boxes. Our gift wrapping also contains natural materials, many of which can be repurposed and reused.

Rose bushes go through different stages of growth throughout the year. They will look different as they move from their dormant phase in the winter to being in full bloom during the summer. For more information on how a rose will look throughout the year, please see our growth guide.
Our standard container is 5.5L, or there is the option to upgrade to our large willow basket for a patio ready gift! All roses (except bare root) will be securely packaged into our specially designed box, and are delivered via DPD. More information on sizing and delivery can be found in our help guides.

We offer tracked delivery to mainland UK (excluding highlands, islands & Northern Ireland) via DPD. Full tracking is provided on all orders, including updates on estimated delivery time.
Next day delivery is available on orders placed before 12pm midday on weekdays (weekends & 2-day Scotland service excluded). You can also choose your preferred delivery date at checkout, up to 60 days in advance.
Free delivery is available on orders £100+ (2-day Scotland service excluded).
