Each sachet contains natural Mycorrhizal fungi to support the growth of healthy root systems, and is recommended when planting bare root roses. Simply sprinkle evenly in the planting hole along with any rose feed.  Place the bare root rose on top of the granules, then backfill as normal. Mycorrhizal Fungi For Roses

Adding English Roses Protect & Grow Root Growth Granules at the time of planting gives your bare root rose the best start, and continues to support it throughout its lifetime. Providing a range of benefits, mycorrhizal fungi is easy to use and does not need reapplication. The granules contain a mixture of endomycorrhizal and ectomycorrhizal fungi, seaweed and humates to help your roses thrive naturally.

What does mycorrhizal fungi do?

Mycorrhizal fungi essentially creates an extension to your rose roots. Once planted with the rose, they attach themselves to the roots and grow rapidly out into the soil, faster and further than the roots would be able to on their own. They search for nutrients and water, increasing absorption as if they were a part of the plant itself. Because they are thinner and finer than the plants own roots, and grow much quicker covering a larger surface area, they are more efficient at finding nutrients in the soil, especially phosphorus and potassium. They also hold onto water like a sponge, therefore increasing your roses’ tolerance to dry conditions.

There is no need for reapplication, because the fungi basically becomes part of the roses own roots. Within a few weeks the fungi will have attached to the roots and started to create its network, thus immediately supporting the growth of your rose.

How do I use Protect & Grow Root Growth Granules (mycorrhizal fungi)?

Sprinkle the mycorrhizal fungi powder evenly into the base of the planting hole. Place your rose onto the granules and backfill as normal. The more fungi that is in contact with the roots, the quicker the fungi will grow and thus benefit your rose.

One 60g sachet will be enough for planting one bare root rose in the garden or into a large container.

Please note: As a natural product the contents may vary in size, ranging from small granules to a fine powder. This is normal and will not affect the efficiency of the product.
