Our bees are in decline in the UK with wildflower meadows almost eradicated in the last hundred years. We can do our bit to save the bees by planting wildflowers in a dedicated patch of ground or container. This tin of wildflower seeds has been specially designed to cater to a range of different bee species requirements, providing nectar and pollen throughout the year to bumblebees, honey bees and solitary bees. Colourful and varied, these wildflowers are all recommended by the Bumblebee Conservation Trust, as well as attractive to other pollinators and wildlife. This tin contains 20 seedballs – the equivalent of 600 seeds – the perfect amount for approx 1 square metre or 3-5 planters.

Seedballs are a simple alternative to traditional seeds, with no digging required. Simply scatter on the top of the soil, water, and watch the magic happen! How else can we help save the bees?

There is lots that we can do to help save the bees, and most are small changes that will make a big difference!

• Choose bee-friendly roses! A garden full of roses in bloom can look like a bee paradise but appearances can be deceptive. Many modern roses have been bred to maximise the number of petals. These ornamental roses prevent the bees accessing the pollen and nectar. The answer? Choose roses with more open flowers that facilitate the bees. Old fashioned roses are often the best choice. • Bee hotels can be bought or made, and provide an excellent nesting site for solitary bees.
• Create a shallow water station with pebbles or stones. This ensures bees have constant access to clean water and can drink without drowning.
• Leave sections of your garden untended so that native plants and wildflowers are able to grow, providing a much needed food source year-round. Ground-nesting bees would also appreciate some patches of bare soil and undisturbed grass margins.
• Avoid using harsh chemicals, pesticides and insecticides in your garden – bees are insects too! Instead, use environmentally friendly methods of feeding and protecting your garden, such as SB Plant Invigorator or English Roses Rose Foliar Feed.

Save The Bees Duo – Precautions

The Bee Revival Kit is not a toy and contains small parts. Must be used with adult supervision. Replace liquid within 12 months of first use, please follow the instructions provided.

The Bee-Friendly Wildflower Mix contains Foxglove which is toxic if ingested. Seedballs are not for consumption, keep away from children and pets. Store in a cool, dry place.
